On the 8th day of the 8th month and 8 months being in ministry the Lord has been pouring out his spirit on Greater Hope Ministries. Elder Christopher Goode had an anniversary service at Little Rock Church on August 8th. Pastor Johnson & Lady “J” had attended the service Saturday night and told the members who did not attend how they missed the confirmation of things that are being preached and taught at Greater Hope Ministries. Pastor Johnson and Lady “J” did not attend Sunday afternoon service at Little Rock Church but they encouraged their members to go and they wanted to go. The members went and they were glad they did. Sis. Keisha Hendricks and Bro. Malik Davis received the Holy Ghost and Keisha was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Elder Goode was very appreciative that the members were told about the service because it is unheard of; if the Pastor doesn’t attend the service along with the members. Greater Hope’s members are God’s members.
The Lawton family is definitely excited because if you look back on the prior testimonies there is only one more member to get the Holy Ghost in their family. The entire Lawton family has been baptized in Jesus’ name; so the promise is there for the last member to receive the Holy Ghost.
8/22/2010-Congratulations to our very own Lady “J” she has made the President’s Honor Roll for the Spring 2010 term at J. Sargeant Reynolds. Lady “J” continues to push forward regardless of the obstacles that have been put in her way and she still finds the time to encourage others. She will finish her certificate this Fall and she still plans to attend Liberty University.
8/25/2010- It was another Wonderful Wednesday at Greater Hope Ministries; Keisha's son Kashawn received the Holy Ghost. Kashawn just came back from New York; he has only been at Greater Hope two Sundays and this was his first Wednesday and the Lord visited him in a mighty way.
8/29/2010 -All Pastor & Lady Johnson can say is “WOW”! Pastor Johnson’s testimony is that he could not have mapped this out or planned it; it is all the Lord’s doing. Pastor Johnson takes no glory for himself; he is doing what the Lord has instructed him to do. Sunday, August 29, during morning service a six year old littler girl, Little Sister Nijah Davis came up and said she wanted the Holy Ghost; if a six year old child can understand that she needs the Holy Ghost time is winding up. The saints rejoiced over the mere fact that she came up and wanted the Holy Ghost, her mother said she had been saying it all week. Little Sister Nijah Davis and Little Sister Starr Rodgers who is only eight years old also, tarrying around the altar for the Holy Ghost tears flowing doing there faces it is a must see.
We couldn’t just stop there. Sunday evening was a Central District Meeting at the House of Prayer, under the leadership of District Elder Christopher Goode, and the Lord met Greater Hope Ministries there again. There were nine souls to be baptized in Jesus name and five of the souls were from Greater Hope Ministries: Brother Eddie Burton, Little Sister Nijah Davis, Little Sister Starr Rodgers, Brother Kashawn Rodgers and Brother Keon Ranison. Little Sister Starr and Brother Kashawn are the children of Sister Keisha Hendricks she received the Holy Ghost and was baptized earlier in the month. The souls tarried around the altar in a mighty way.
Brother Julius Johnson let the Lord use him in a prophetic way; he declared some things and unlocked some things. The saying, “You just should have been there,” is very true.
8/31/2010 -August of last year the Lord had given Lady “J” a vision. The vision consisted of seeing herself in the rain. The Lord had asked her, “Do you know the reason why you are not getting wet?” Lady “J” being the person she is said, “No.” The Lord said, “You have to remove the umbrella.” This vision took place during the Regional Meeting last year and she had told a sister, whom she attended church with, about the vision; before Elder Wiley came up to preach. When Elder Wiley came up to preach he said, “Reason why some of you are not getting wet is because you have to remove the umbrella.” Lady "J" and the sister she attended church with broke out in a shout because she knew it had to be from the Lord. She didn’t really have a clear picture or didn’t want to have a clear picture then; but a year later she really understands why.
We have a few more members to be on the altar to receive the Holy Ghost but we know if we continue to be faithful and stay focus on the Lord; that He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above what we ask or think.
