January 2011 Part B

We had to do a Part B to January’s testimony page because of what the Lord had done for us on our first year anniversary.  Saints are still talking about the service saying that they have never seen a 1 Year Anniversary Service like that before. We apologize that we did not continue to update January testimony page as frequent as we should; but not because He did not bless but because we were grateful of what the Lord had done on that first Sunday.

We had a couple to come into Greater Hope Ministries and the sermon topic for that Sunday was “Stop Lying and Walk in the Light”. Brother Glenn came for prayer and Pastor questioned him concerning receiving the Holy Ghost and after explaining the Holy Ghost to Brother Glenn; Pastor began to pray for him and Brother Glenn a few moments later received the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

On this particular Sunday the Lord began to move mightily soon after prayer, the anointing was so thick that the saints began to praise Him. While this was taking place a young lady named Sister Turner, who was already a member and seeking the Holy Ghost, began to worship and the Lord filled her with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. She had been seeking the Holy Ghost for about three months.

Pastor Johnson was invited to speak at District 1 Joy Service at the Richmond Convention Center and the Lord met us in a miraculous way. The saints came with a mind and a spirit to worship therefore the spirit of unity was rich in the place. After Pastor Johnson’s introduction he began to quote Psalms 34 and that scripture began to provoke the saints; the saints began to praise the Lord. The Lord began to use Pastor Johnson to minister to the saints the word of God concerning supporting each other; the sermon topic for that evening was “If You Build it They Would Come”. The word dealt with building “ministry” not a “building”.

Afterwards, an altar call was made and saints began to come up for prayer during this time an eight year old girl, from Greater Hope Ministries, by name of Sister Rodgers came up seeking the Holy Ghost. After receiving prayer and tarrying for a few minutes the Lord filled her with the Holy Ghost. Sister Rodgers was already baptized in Jesus’ name back in August 2010. Her mother was Holy Ghost filled and baptized in August 2010 and her brother was also Holy Ghost filled and baptized in August 2010. Her soon to be step- father, Brother Burton, was baptized in August 2010 but he received the Holy Ghost in December 2010.

Pastor Johnson noticed a man standing off to the side with the assistance of a walking cane; but he waited until he finished celebrating with Sister Rodgers. Pastor Johnson then turned his attention towards the gentleman who came up for prayer.  He spoke to him and declared that the Lord would heal him. It was obvious that the gentleman had a stroke and some paralysis on the left side of his body. Pastor Johnson provoked the gentleman’s faith by telling him to walk without using the cane; the gentleman began to move but was still seeking the cane for support but Pastor Johnson continued to command him to walk.  The saints began to fill the atmosphere with faith and expectation. Pastor Johnson continued to command this gentleman to walk and he began to walk without the assistance of the cane or anybody. The leg that did not have the ability to move began to move and he walked towards one side of the room and turned around; Pastor Johnson dared him to walk back to the other side, and he did. The uproar of praise filled the entire room and the tears of the saints began to fall. Pastor Johnson began to say “This is what ministry is about”.

We cannot stress enough about supporting each other; that is what makes the difference. This is not about a diocese, district or denomination; again this is not about us but it is about Jesus. We know in 2011 that the Lord is reigning and will continue to reign.
